LELDF Supports Program for Collegiates

LELDF has teamed up with the prestigious Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) to provide programs on law en-forcement to students and faculty nationwide. A unique program, “Understanding Law Enforcement” brings prominent speakers to the campus to introduce important topics related to law enforcement.

Recently former Appellate Judge Ken Starr lectured at the University of Texas on “Law Enforcement, Civil Liberties, and the Future of American Justice,” as part of this new endeavor. Students receive excellent resources, such as invaluable books on law, crime, and the roots of American order.

Three essay contests have been held which are open to college students with the prize being a cash reward of $1,000. This year’s topic is: “In light of the controls now imposed on police officers, would you personally be willing to become a policeman? If not, why not, and how might our method of holding police officers accountable be changed so that we can live in a society that is both free and secure?”

The 51-year-old ISI is a campus-oriented organization which sponsors conferences and speakers at colleges and universities throughout America. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said: “ISI has given me, and countless other professors and students on our nation’s campuses, firmness and confidence in sound opinions.”

To receive more information on the program, contact 800-526-7022 or visit www.isi.org and search under “Programs” for full details.
